Ilari C. Machera is an undergraduate student at Rhodes College. He is projected to earn a B.A. in Health Equity and Africana Studies and is simultaneously on the pre-medical track. He is a rising senior in the graduating class of 2025.
Ilari is part of the Multicultural Vision Program (MVP) and Men Of Distinction (MOD) organizations, using his voice to advocate for the marginalized communities at Rhodes College. He uses his education in Health Equity to bring new knowledge to these organizations on how they can move forward in the fight for equality in policies at Rhodes.
While attending Rhodes College, Ilari works with numerous non-profit programs in Memphis, Tennessee. In one of his most recent contributions to the city, Ilari works with Bloom 901, a parks advocacy organization created to help people in park groups come together and organize. He also works with Memphis Union Mission, an emergency service that provides meals and shelter, as well as recovery programs to help address the underlying causes of homelessness.
