The City Clerk's Office can accept
- Summons and Complaints naming the City of Los Angeles
- Summons and Complaints naming any City Department (this does not include the Housing Authority or "HACLA")
- Subpoenas naming the City of Los Angeles or the Office of the City Clerk
The City Clerk’s Office cannot accept
- Cannot accept legal documents for:
- Housing Authority
- An individual
- Cannot accept legal documents submitted through:
- Electronic service
