The Office of the City Clerk Council and Public Services Division is open for service of process

 

Hours of Operation: 
Monday - Friday from 8:00am - 4:30pm (excluding City Holidays)

200 North Spring Street
Room 395, City Hall
Los Angeles, CA 90012
(Entrance is on Main Street)

 

The City Clerk's Office can accept

- Summons and Complaints naming the City of Los Angeles

- Summons and Complaints naming any City Department (this does not include the Housing Authority or "HACLA")

- Subpoenas naming the City of Los Angeles or the Office of the City Clerk

 

The City Clerk’s Office cannot accept 

- Cannot accept legal documents for:

  • Housing Authority 
  • An individual

- Cannot accept legal documents submitted through:

  • Electronic service
  • Email
