Declaration of Intention to Become a Write-In Candidate
In order to run for office, all candidates must file a Declaration of Intention Form and other Forms in-person during the Candidate Filing period.
Candidate Filing begins on Monday, January 8, 2024, until Tuesday, February 20, 2024.
Our regular office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
Our office will be closed on Monday, January 15, 2024, and Monday, February 19, 2024, in observance of city holidays.

Below are fillable forms that candidates may complete beginning Monday, January 8, 2024, at 8 AM. These forms are accessible in accordance with their deadlines and will be processed by our office when candidates come to file in-person. Candidates may update and submit these forms from the day they filed their Declaration of Intention up until the forms’ respective due dates to our office via email at clerk.election@lacity.org, by fax at (213) 978-0376, or by submitting in-person during office hours. Forms submitted after office hours will be processed the next business day.
