Ruby Churton

Ruby Churton is a rising senior at UCLA majoring in environmental science with a concentration in environmental engineering. She is passionate about the environment, specifically the intersection between public health and environmental health impacts. She was first introduced to public health through her internship at the Ellison Medical Institute on their education and outreach team. At EMI she coordinates outreach events including educating local universities and LAUSD schools regarding cancer prevention, biology, and treatment. She also serves as the “Events and Experience Lead” on EMI’s junior scholars alumni committee. Beyond her work in the medical fields, Ruby is the sustainability chair for UCLA’s Kappa Kappa Gamma, Gamma Xi Chapter. She looks forward to contributing to the LA Health Commission by bridging her passion for sustainability and healthcare innovation to better the broader LA community.
